Merger Feedback - Your Views
Over 3,500 customers across both the Wrekin Housing Group and Housing Plus Group gave their feedback on the proposed merger.
We asked you about priorities and the aims of the merger, such as whether being able to build new homes was important. The results across both organisations were broadly similar. This included:
- Your top three priorities were: Repairs, major improvements and feeling safe in your home
- The top things that make a great repairs service are,: Ease of reporting a problem, quick response, range of dates and times of appointments and completed first time
- Surveys & meetings were your preffered ways to get involved.
- The types of skills and training you value include: apprenticeships, work experience, digital skills training and employment advice
The majority of customers, for both landlords, agreed that the following were important:
Commitment | HPG | Wrekin |
Building more homes and providing more opportunity to move home | 62% | 64% |
Doing more to improve your home (for example kitchens and bathrooms) | 90% | 86% |
Providing a wide range of care and support services, such as care in your home, retirement living homes, helping to live in their homes independently, employment and money advice and tackling loneliness | 79% | 83% |
Better access to services locally, such as a named housing officer and seeing staff in your neighbourhood | 82% | 84% |
Understanding customers and their views to influence our work and investment in local communities | 79% | 81% |
As well as shaping the boards’ decisions about the merger, this information will then be used to shape how the two organisations join together over the next two years. Lots of customers told us they’d like to get involved more about the merger, and this work will start to take place in 2025.
