Kickstart

Wrekin is pleased to be participating in the Government’s Kickstart Scheme - offering new work placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.

Over the last 12 months, we have offered placements to almost 80 young people in a wide variety of roles, including Customer Services, Catering, Admin, Finance, Grounds Maintenance; Repairs and IT.

We have had some great successes. Some of our placements have been extended into permanent roles at Wrekin and many have gone on to secure permanent work in other businesses at the end of their Kickstart.

All our placements receive support and guidance from our Employability Co-Ordinators and the Wrekin Kickstart team, to ensure they get the best out of their time at Wrekin and to have the best chance of success in the jobs market going forwards.

The Kickstart programme at Wrekin is now closed to new applicants.
