Wrekin Voices: Join us at our summer events
Our Customer Voice team will be out and about this summer chatting to you about your home, neighbourhood or anything else on your mind.
The team have planned drop in events across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Staffordshire and a few neighbourhood walkabouts too.
These events are to allow customers to make their voices heard and have your say on how we do things here at Wrekin.
We’d also like you to let us know what you think about the proposed merger with Housing Plus Group and importantly, what you think the priorities of the new organisation should be. Our team will be on hand to explain a bit more about it and hear any feedback you may have.
David Lewis, Customer Engagement and Feedback Manager said:
“We’re really keen to speak to customers and find out the things that matter most to them. Our drop in events are informal and allow people to come and speak to a member of our team in person about anything that’s on their mind. Customer feedback really does inform how we do things at Wrekin so this is a great chance for people to come and tell us what they think”.

Would you like to become a Wrekin Voice?
You can get involved in many ways, working around all the other things you have going on in your life. Here are just some of the ways customers have had their say this month.
WATCH alarms
Wrekin WATCH alarms provides peace of mind to Wrekin customers and private residents. If you need help, it is available at the touch of a portable button worn on a wrist or as a pendant. We upgrade our devices as new products come on the market to enable us to provide the best service for customer. A group of Wrekin tenants recently took the latest model on a test run to make sure it meets the need of our customers. Their main aim was to test the range of the new devices, taking it in the garden, shopping, hospital and other appointments and also outside their home counties.
ShireLiving
At the latest ShireLiving Voices Panel Meeting, 20 tenants came together to represent many of the extra care schemes. The agenda covered a range of important topics, including scheme staffing, safety, compliance, and onsite repairs. Nick Pike, our Resident Safety Manager, discussed security and safety, while Jason Scott, Compliance and Delivery Manager, introduced new systems for Building Assistants designed to streamline repairs.
Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs)
At Wrekin we complete an Equality Impact Assessment for all policies that impact on people, when they are being introduced, changed or reviewed. The main purpose of an Equality Impact Assessment is to make sure policies do not discriminate or affect some groups unfavourably. If they do, we won’t introduce the policy or we will take action to ensure that it is fair and accessible by all. Customers have been helping to shape our policies by completing online feedback forms and short surveys.
Merger Proposals Survey
Last week we launched a survey that is being sent to all customers. This survey will gather your views on the proposed merger with Housing Plus Group. Lookout for the survey which will be landing in your inbox or by mail. If you have not received one and would like to have your say, get in touch or visit us at one of our events.
Community Events
Our team have been out at community events, talking to customers and engaging with the public about opportunities available. In June, they went along to Armed Forces Day in Donnington and Dawley Day to talk to people about all the services Wrekin offers.
