Top 10 ranking for The Wrekin Housing Trust
Telford-based The Wrekin Housing Trust has been ranked in the top 10 of housing associations in the UK for increasing their stock.
The Trust, which has over 12,000 properties in Shropshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands, has been ranked 7th in the country in the list of housing associations increasing their stock by the highest percentage for 2017/18. The Trust increased its stock by 5% last year, completing 567 new homes.
Wayne Gethings, Managing Director of The Wrekin Housing Trust, said: “It’s quite an achievement to be one of the top 50 builders, but to make the top 10 in the list of associations that have increased their stock is fantastic for an association of our size.
“We are working hard and investing heavily to develop and deliver much-needed high quality, affordable properties. Last month, we officially opened Neal Court in Telford, a development of 18 new homes, and over the coming months we have handovers scheduled for a number of other sites in and around Telford.”
Compiled by industry magazine, Inside Housing, the Biggest Builders survey assesses the performance of the country’s top 50 housing associations.
The Trust also ranked in 27th position when looking at the number of new homes completed in 2017/18. In terms of homes in the pipeline, the Trust is listed as 43rd overall and is expecting to complete 368 homes this year. Between 2018–2021 the Trust expects to complete 1,500 new homes, achieving 37th place in the list.
