Support for Ukraine

We have a proud history of supporting refugees from around the world. The plight of Ukrainians who have fled their homes will be no exception.

We are making six key commitments to pledge our support for Ukrainian refugees. We will:

1. Support Wrekin customers wishing to offer a room in their home to displaced Ukrainians
2. Work with our local authority partners to offer Wrekin properties to Ukrainian families
3. Provide employment advice and support, helping refugees to provide for themselves
4. Open up all of our job vacancies for appropriately qualified refugees
5. Make charitable donations through our Community Fund to local groups supporting refugees
6. Enable our staff to use their volunteer hours to support refugee groups

Wrekin's Group Chair, Des Hudson said

“I am proud to announce that we stand committed to supporting any Ukrainian refugee with housing and employment opportunities when they arrive in Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire or Staffordshire. We will be working with our local authority partners, other local organisations as well as the community to provide a warm welcome.”
