Ribbon cut on new housing for Craven Arms

Work has been completed on a development of seven affordable homes on Millar Row, off Ludlow Road in Craven arms and officially marked with a ribbon cutting.
The two bedroom family homes replace the former Ambulance Station and have been built for The Wrekin Housing Trust by developers Jessup, who utilised grant funding from the Homes and Communities agency and worked in partnership with Shropshire Council. The ambulance has also been given a new home on the site.
All of the new homes have private gardens and allocated parking, and their energy efficient design will save residents money on their bills. Residents will also benefit from the Trust’s same day repairs service.
New resident, Lauren O’Connor is thrilled with her new family home and said; “I’ve moved from an apartment and our new home feels like a mansion to me. I’m looking forward to the summer and enjoying the garden with my two girls who are five years old and ten months.”
Neighbours Andrew Lloyd and Kerrie Glamville moved in shortly after daughter Poppy’s birth and said; “We are so pleased! Our house is spacious and is perfect for our little family.”
The ribbon was cut by David Evans, Shropshire County Councillor for Craven Arms, and he was joined by the new residents and representatives from Jessup and the Trust.
David Evans said; “We welcome this type of housing for Craven Arms, it gives local people a chance to live in their home town and is a boost for our town. I think we need more of this sort of housing to give our young people support for the future. Also this development has helped to keep our Ambulance Station in Craven Arms"
Dave Garratt, Wrekin's Development Manager for the area said; “We’re absolutely thrilled to provide new, modern and sustainable homes in Craven Arms and to let them to families from the area.”
Clive Jessup, Chief Executive of Jessup Build Develop, commented, “We are delighted to have delivered this scheme with our partners, it represents the very best in regeneration. We have recycled the land to provide much needed local homes and also refurbished an existing facility to provide a modern base for the ambulance service operating throughout South Shropshire.”
