Health and Safety Partner, talks about Wrekin's vacant graduate role
Libby O’Neill, who works in Wrekin’s Asset Management Team as a Health and Safety Partner, talks about her background and shares her thoughts on the vacant Graduate Health and Safety Advisor role at Wrekin.
“After completing my Law degree and graduating from university in 2013, I started at Wrekin as a Graduate Health and Safety Advisor, which is the same role that is being advertised now. The role really helped me because it supported me through all of my qualifications, which were paid for by Wrekin, but I also gained valuable experience on the job. The role provided a great platform to develop my skills and progress my career from a Graduate Health and Safety Advisor to a Health and Safety Partner at Wrekin, which I’m really proud of.
“The role that’s currently being advertised would give the right person all the tools to be successful, provided they wanted to learn and wanted to really push on in their career, with the end goal as a permanent Health and Safety Advisor, in sight.
“So in my role we do site visits, we do accident investigations and making sure we learn from each incident, regular audits, keep up to date with regulations, train all staff members at Wrekin and finally maintain all COVID safe measures. We work with everyone, from the CEO to Kickstart employees and tradespeople. We want to make sure everyone leaves work in the same state they came in, health and wellbeing is of paramount importance to us.
“We would also say the person has to be quite flexible, enthusiastic and confident as health and safety information has to be accurate and consistent at all times. Of course people would be learning on the job too, if you have interest in health and safety, care or a housing background that would also be an advantage.
“For the role, you could have a degree in absolutely anything, provided you have that and an interest in health and safety, you’re eligible for the role, apply today!
“It’s genuinely such a rewarding job, because you’re making a difference to people’s lives every single day."
