Gardening week in Retirement Living Schemes
Residents in our retirement living schemes have been enjoying spending time in their gardens with the sunshine.
This Gardening Week has coincided with a relaxation of lockdown restrictions, giving some of our residents a boost as they embraced the weather whilst gardening.
Tenants at The Coppice, our Extra Care Living scheme in Shrewsbury, have enjoyed having time and space to tend to their gardens in the outdoors.
Our tenants have said that this activity improves both their physical and mental wellbeing, benefitting from the light exercise, fresh air and interacting with other residents in a socially distant manner.
Some of our residents have been busy tending to their gardens as part of a gardening competition. Categories include:
- Best communal garden
- Best herb display
- Best wildflower patch
This competition has given our tenants something to focus on during a difficult period.
At Wrekin we are committed to supporting our tenants and encouraging them to undertake activities that improve their physical and mental wellbeing in a safe environment.
