We are saying no more to domestic abuse
This week is Say No More week an annual opportunity to raise awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
You can read more about the campaign here.
At Wrekin we want to say no more by pledging to learn about the issues, speak out and share learning and resources around domestic and sexual violence.
We have a number of Domestic Abuse leads throughout our organisation that enable all staff to easily feedback and share any concerns they have. We are also part of the Make a Stand campaign a pledge which has been developed by the Chartered Institute of Housing in partnership with Women’s Aid and the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA).
Our Senior Domestic Abuse Champion is Head of Continuous Services Morag Bailey.
Morag says; “One of the hardest things to do when you are suffering from domestic abuse is to say ‘no more’, it takes a huge amount of courage and strength. It is down to us as individuals and organisations to say ‘no more’ in support of those who can’t. Say ‘NO MORE’, reduce suffering and make a positive difference to people’s lives. I have – will you?’
We hope that together we can challenge the myths and misconceptions around these issues, and all play a part in ending domestic abuse and violence.
You can find out more about this including details of a number of websites containing useful information and support listed on our Domestic Abuse page.
