Salary:                        Ranging from  £27,804 - £33594 pro rata (dependent on experience)

                                    plus essential car user allowance

The role:

Our commitment to providing an expert Money Matters advice and guidance to our customers is paramount, especially during these challenging times. We are seeking an experienced, driven, and enthusiastic individual to join our well established Money Matters team. In this role, you will provide expert advice on welfare benefits, maximising income, offer practical assistance and guidance on various issues all aimed at helping our customers maintain their tenancies.

The role is split between home working and office bases in Telford, and your day duties will take you across all areas where The Wrekin Housing Group let their homes.

How will you make an impact?

  • Your key responsibilities will include the delivery of an expert and accessible Money Matters advice service via the Group’s network of local teams and in the customer’s home where appropriate
  • To assist and advise customers with all enquiries relating to welfare benefits, liaising with external partners to ensure that relevant services and support are accessed
  • To provide a holistic service to customers, to alleviate financial pressures and support the sustainment of tenancies
  • To assist in arrears reduction and tenancy sustainment through the provision of high-quality Money Matters advice to customers

About you

  • You would have an understanding of all welfare benefit & reform matter as well as the practical knowledge to assist and guide customers to ensure they can successfully manage their tenancy
  • You would display a real commitment to customer service, be enthusiastic and empathetic, have a proven ability to build positive working relationships across our teams & the business
  • Strong time management skills are essential, coupled with a drive and motivation to contribute to an organisation dedicated to enhancing its services and positively impacting the lives of our customers
  • Working as an integral part of a busy team providing Money Matters services, you will have first class communication, organisational and team working skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role
  • Our team follows a hybrid home/office working model, and having prior experience in delivering remote support and services is highly valued. This includes the ability to empower and assist customers in accessing digital services as needed
  • A minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths along with recent experience providing welfare benefit advice
  • Welfare benefit qualification is desirable
