Support Worker - Heath Street


Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Heath Street, Stoke-on-Trent

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week available covering a 7 day rota

Shift Pattern: 07:15am - 14:45pm, 14:30pm - 22:00pm

Salary: £13.00 per hour, plus benefits.

The role: 

Are you looking for a fresh challenge where you can showcase your caring and understanding nature? Our residential schemes support adults with learning and physical disabilities with a range of health needs. 

We are looking for Support Workers to join our team in Staffordshire. Experience is not essential, as we will provide you with all the relevant training and support to become a confident Support Worker.

At Wrekin Housing Group, we are all about caring for the community and the people we support. At Heath Street, we support up to six individuals, male and female, with all aspects of daily living including personal care, preparing meals and mealtime support, administering medication, and supporting with health appointments. 

We also have a lot of fun supporting them with their daily activities such as visits to Tunstall Park, Hanley Forest Park, walks on Wesport Lake, pamper sessions, bingo, coffee mornings, lunches, and musical sessions to name a few. There are many more activities you can get involved with. This is a rewarding role where you can see our residents enjoying themselves and having a great time with your support.

What you will be doing:

  • Delivering the best possible levels of care to the people you support, to help the individuals to achieve their personal goals and live as independently as possible
  • As a Support Worker, your responsibilities are varied and no two days are the same
  • Alongside providing physical and emotional support, you may be needed to help with household tasks and personal care, as well as supporting individuals with their healthcare needs, such as administering medication
  • Everything you do within your role will provide flexible services that meet peoples needs, and support them to have choices about their own lives

About you: 

  • You will enjoy working in harmony with the team proactively and collaboratively for positive outcomes for our residents
  • You will be someone who would embrace processes and procedures along with adding in a good measure of your creativity
  • You will be open to new ideas and thinking out of the box 
  • As the shift patterns are based on our resident's changing needs, flexibility is required
